Tasha: 2021 Tour
—2021
—2021
Tasha’s 2021 Tour featuring experimental typography and illustrations.
On her debut album Alone at Last, Tasha celebrates the radical political act of being exquisitely gentle with yourself. For years, the Chicago songwriter has dreamed hard of a better world—but as she returned to the guitar, she began exploring the ways music can be a powerful force for healing. It might not fix a deeply broken world all by itself, but it can offer comfort and respite for those who, like her, dare to imagine a thriving future.

Viet: Happy to be here
—2021
—2021
Created as a homage to my Vietnamese heritage, the design features experimental typography combined with a collage of different sketches/ Asian visualizations.
Viet: Happy to be here is a visual solution to processing what’s happening to the Asian American community. As we’ve seen over the past year, Asian Americans are still considered an “other,” born from seeds collected elsewhere, even if they grew here at home. At a time when the lifelong questioning of “Do I belong?” is met with violence, the phrase “happy to be here” and “Klumsy Viet” are meant to hold their ground. When I see Asian Americans across this country declaring with proud voice that they belong, that feels like an act of defiance against the hate and the violence we’ve endured.
The print features copy about the geography/culture of Vietnam and even some fun facts.
Skeleton drawn by Lauren Allesee.
Risograph printed on 11” x 17” White: Exact Vellum Bristol 67 lb/145 gsm. Creme: Cover Stock 68 lb/110 gsm. Four-color; Federal Blue, Green, Red, Yellow.

“Thank God it’s Fryday,” a creative collaboration featuring words by creative writer Shane Jones.
“Think about it: how much time do you blow waiting for it? I’m throwing it away at an olympic level at this point. If time is a function of space - or if it’s the other way around - then what does that wasted time translate to vis a vis, like, your environment? I mean just take a look around.
If what we crave is stability, is consistency, then doesn’t it make more sense to continue perfecting the things that you’re already skilled at than to change your ways - even if what it is you’re really good at is running out the clock?
So crack one open, baby. It’s always Fryday somewhere.”

Kakashi

An ode to Kakashi and a written development of my ninja way.
Nindō (忍道, meaning: Ninja Way) is a personal rule that each shinobi lives by. It is their way of ninja life: their motto, belief, or "dream". The text includes copy of my personal beliefs: creating spaces and conversation to make people feel comfortable in their own skin and a strong regard for not disappointing oneself.

Design inspired from chapter 13 “Designing a Ghost” from the book “Are We Human” written by Beatrice Colomina.
Design is what makes the human. Beatriz Colomina and Mark Wigley offer a multilayered exploration of the intimate relationship between human and design, and rethink the philosophy of design in a multi-dimensional exploration that ranges from the very first tools and ornaments to the constant buzz of social media.

This print is based off a custom design for the anime Bleach.
Bankai (解, Final Release), originally known as Shinuchi (真打, True Strike), is the second and final form of a Shinigami's Zanpakutō. It is the ultimate technique of Captain-class Shinigami. Those who achieve it are said to be in possession of an "evolved Zanpakutō" (進化した斬魄刀, shinkashita Zanpakutō).
